Admiral Insurance Wins Top Employer Award

"Congratulations to everyone at Admiral Insurance, the company was recently recognized as a Top Employer in Atlantic Canada for 2012! Since opening for business in Halifax in 2007, Admiral Insurance has grown from an office of twenty-one to over 400 employees.

The achievement of being recognized as one of the Top Employers in Atlantic Canada is one that Vice President, Alex MacDonald, said he is very proud of and that the company's award winning culture really comes down to "the work of everyone pulling together."

The company made it to the top of the list through offering employees a share in the U.K. based organization's financial success. As part of Admiral's profit-sharing plan, each employee is an owner; being awarded £3000 annually in free shares.

In 2011 the Halifax office awarded over 2.5 million dollars in shares and dividends, to its employees! Admiral provides health coverage from day one and ongoing employee development through tuition subsidies; in-house training pays for professional accreditation and offers a formal mentoring program. They also start all employees at three weeks' vacation, increased by one extra day for each year of employment.
